  7.  % NASA announces grant recipients for research

  9. Technicians at the Kennedy Space Center continue to prepare Endeavour for
  10. tomorrow's scheduled launch.  Forecasters continue to indicate a 60 percent
  11. probability of weather prohibiting launch tomorrow.  The main concern are low
  12. cloud ceilings and higher than allowable crosswinds at the Shuttle Landing
  13. Facility.

  17. NASA recently selected 39 researchers to receive 3 to 4 year grants for
  18. microgravity combustion research.  Thirty-three of the grants are for Earth
  19. ground-based research, while the other six are flight definition efforts.
  20.  
  21. The research, which is sponsored by NASA's Office of Life and Microgravity
  22. Science and Applications, will give investigators the opportunity to take
  23. advantage of a low-gravity Earth environment to improve understanding of
  24. fundamental physical and chemical processes associated with combustion
  25. phenomena which often are masked by normal gravity conditions .
