% STS-59 status;
% NASA announces grant recipients for research
Technicians at the Kennedy Space Center continue to prepare Endeavour for
tomorrow's scheduled launch. Forecasters continue to indicate a 60 percent
probability of weather prohibiting launch tomorrow. The main concern are low
cloud ceilings and higher than allowable crosswinds at the Shuttle Landing
Facility.

NASA recently selected 39 researchers to receive 3 to 4 year grants for
microgravity combustion research. Thirty-three of the grants are for Earth
ground-based research, while the other six are flight definition efforts.
The research, which is sponsored by NASA's Office of Life and Microgravity
Science and Applications, will give investigators the opportunity to take
advantage of a low-gravity Earth environment to improve understanding of
fundamental physical and chemical processes associated with combustion
phenomena which often are masked by normal gravity conditions .
